whoa! This looks cool :D. Me and 2 of my friends still play the Game Cube version in which you use your game boy advanced as the controller lol I'll be looking forward to the upgrade.

Looks awful
They should go back to basics
Good ol' PS1 graphics or PS2...
Those really high graphics look too fake...
If they had graphics like FF8 did on the high quality bits...

Your thinking of Crystal Chronicles. This is the sequel to FF11, which is an MMO that never really took off all that much. Biased opinion of course cause it delayed the release of an actual FF game.

FF11 has 2million active subs!!
game is pretty big

Ya, but most of that 2 mil was Japanese. It was bigger over there than here. Not to mention chock full of farmers.

I think the number is more in the 5-600,000 range. Nonetheless, that's hardly anything to sneeze at in the MMOG market, especially considering it was once one of the, if not the, most played MMOGs in America (pre-WoW days).

Doesn't seem surprising in the least that they're making a sequel. Personally, I wish they were taking a page from their non-MMOG series and taking the game in a completely different direction rather than just basically being FFXI-2. The FFXI world always struck me as a little bland compared to some of the other Final Fantasy offerings, perhaps because I tend to prefer the ones that are a little more sci-fi than fantasy.

As a huge fan of FFXI, I can safely say that this was the best announcement at E3. I can't wait. Infact, I'm reactivating my FFXI account today ^^.

Nice dude! I've been playing FFXI for almost 5 years now on the alexander server (75 nin rdm blm brd, all missions done), and FF14 was huge news to me. I read somewhere that they were gonna give some benefit to players who had played FFXI. Plus square has been known for pushing the limit on realism in graphics, can't wait to see how this looks in comparison. Ive been around the block, played Warhammer, SW:G, EVE, Guild Wars, EQ/EQ2, WoW (of course), and FFXI is still the best in my eyes.

they announced a couple months ago that they had 2 million active subs, most ammount of active subs they have ever had

but final fantasy 14 is in a completly new world, just the same races.
