Ambassador - Too Powerful?

I like the ambassador. Plus you are not considering that after the weapon is fired, it not only looses some accuracy but also damage. A fully "charged" shot deals more damage.

Ambassador - Not Powerful Enough?

I'm a spy that is looking for a gun that will kill the entire enemy team with one shot. I need a gun that can shoot through the center of the earth to kill snipers on the other side. Can anyone recommend one for me?

So, I just did a small study in-game, I'll upload screenies in a few minutes.

This is what I've gathered:
A good spy can kill a medic in 2 shots which takes a fraction over 1 second to do. Personally, it took me three in about 1.6 seconds to do it, because of the (slight) accuracy falloff. I know the medic has low hp and a heavy would be a harder target, but an intelligent spy with his team in mind would go for the medic.

I set up three targets on one side of the bridge, an engi, another spy, and a scout. The engi and scout I had stay still three shots to kill both of them, headshot the sngi, headshot the scout, then I saw if it can kill two at once, and it can. With the spy, I put a reverse follow command on, so he'd move the opposite of what I do. So while he and I were moving I got two headshots, in a row, across the 2fort bridge while moving.

My opinion: make the accuracy falloff just a bit less accurate after the first shot. Right now, it's a sniper rifle with no scope on it.

EDIT: My screenshots are being squirrely, might be awhile.

the think i like about it is not everyone seems to be able to use it effectivley. I like that it has made medics ( my primary class ) harder to play simply cause we have to watch our fronts and backs for spys now

its good because if they nerfed it then no one would use the ambassador because it takes time to get another great shot

Think your looking for a BFG

I haven't gotten hit too many times with it, seem like it's pretty balanced to me

with the ambassador, its harder to use than the normal revolver because you have to have better aim for it to be effective

I think it's balanced to me. About time the Spy got something that can make him sort of like a sharpshooter.

If I play spy, I have like 4 kills with the ambassador, and 1 kill with a backstab lol

Dunno, seems balanced to me. The first shot is accurate but if you keep firing the gun it will get really inaccurate.

I love the ambassador. Except for when I can't aim. Then I die, and am therefore unable to feel love any longer.

The Ambassador is meant for taking out those enemies you wouldn't otherwise with a knife for various reasons (too far, already damaged might as well shoot, or there's a Razorback, or there's too many people checking and you just need to take out that medic).

It's not very good as an escape weapon unless you get the headshot (which requires a fair amount of skill) or you have absurdly good luck, because it's average DPS is far lower than the Revolver if you don't shoot it patiently, which, in a running away situation, you most likely won't. So I'd say it's balanced: it switches the main weapon from an escape weapon to a reliable alternate method of killing. Plus, it's one of the few unlockables that actually reward skill and adds a higher skill ceiling, which is always good in my book.

I personally love the Ambassador, its a perfectly balanced weapon that is better if you know how to use it. The fact that headshots don't kill in one shot meants after you're shot, just move and we really can't hit you at all. The slower firing speed means that if we miss, we're probably dead. It's a risky weapon to use, but if you have the skill, go for it.

It should not be nerfed.

which is funny cuz it's the first unlock you get i believe can't remember if i got it from a random drop or achievement

It seems fine to me but a heavy with the mini gun can out snipe me if I'm using the Ambassador, I'm that bad with it.
