If there was a way to remove rank but keep the stats I'd be all for that.

I like to see what I've been doing/playing/killing with/kdp. But ranks are stupid.

if I remember right, go in a server, type, hlx in chat, go to the next page and you can hide your rank with one of the options. Shows up as "Hidden" on your hlstatsx. Still have points, and all the other stats, just no "rank".

Unfortunately, i don't think it's reversible at this time though.

What sucks is, you can use the command in-game to hide rank, but it doesn't:

A) Carry over in other ego servers (you must type it in multiple times per server)
B) Save the command, meaning you must type it in every session
C) work every time anyways, meaning it still shows you the rank and "you have killed.." in chat even after you typed in the command.

I'm in the minority here, but I enjoy the HLstats points. It gives me a sense of accomplishment when I hit a rank milestone like #1000, kinda like unlocking an achievement.

You can disable the HLX spam in the chat via the options in the 'hlx' command. As far as hiding the rank: I've only done it once and it's remained hidden since then. So I don't know what issue you may be having.

I like the hlstats, it kinda motivates me to play for something so it is more rewarding when you are doing good, setting goals like points, kdr or trying to get an award, if there is nothing, I would be done with this game pretty fast I think.

This leaves a lot out. Medics for one, don't get anything.

Kills per death also doesn't show how your playing. You must also take into account Kills Per Minute (how active you are, it's much easier to sit back and wait for kills than it is to go out and seek them). Anyone can camp around with a medic and get a decent k/d ratio, but you also probably really aren't helping your team by not moving forward.

I'm more impressed by someone with a lower kd/r who has a relatively high kills per minute than I am someone with a really high kd/r but an extremely low kill per minute ratio.

Coming from the guy that is already #1 by a good margin.... You've gotten the best record out there, does that make you want to stop playing?

If it was about improving I'd be focused on the straight stats, not the rank associated with it. Anyone here can go play on our Dustbowl server get 1:1 ratio and be in the top 200 in about 2-3 weeks.

Hlstatsx doesn't make me want to play the game, playing the game is all I need. I've done all I can to hide my stats as much as possible, but it continues to track points. I just wish it didn't.

You would think that, but no... my new goal is to go for a kdr of 5.00
currently I am at 4.64 or something, so that will take a few weeks before it is that high. Or get 300.000 points, would be a lovely idea as well.
So enough goals for me to go for.

But dustbowl is rewarding since a lot of high ranked players are there, so it is easier to get more points than 2 for each kill you make.
