Crossfire + ATI or nVidia + SLI?

Please no saying which one sucks or not. They're both pretty even, but sometimes people need more opinion. Friendly debate. Thank you

I personally like nVidia better. Due to the facts that the FPS never drops on me. ATI is great too its lower quality, it'll live. I like to go for more bang for the buck.

I don't favor one or the other, I just go by the charts and what is best performance for my money at the time. Sometimes it's a nvidia others its ATI.

not just for you but for most of the replys it would be nice if you supported your answer, just saying, im not trying to be mean here

personally i like ATi because of the following reasons
1.the Catalystcontol panel rocks the socks off nVidia control pannel
2. they use faster GDDR5 memory, where as nVidia still uses GDDR3 (even my 3870 uses GDDR4 cmon nVidia)
3.Generally have better heat-sinks and fans
4. Usually ATi has a better price v. performance ratio
5. but if the nVida card has a better price to performance ratio i would buy it instead
6.in my opinion Crossfire seem to work more efficiently than SLi

Well, I've sided with NVIDIA for several years now, and I do also have a Laptop with ATI graphics (not very good, but it does its job) and I don't like ATI because I had hassles trying to find a decent driver for the damn card. Plus, ATI doesn't support as much of its old cards as much as nvidia does.

I've gamed with a Geforce 2 MX 400, 7300LE, 8500GT, and soon, a 9800GT.

So, i prefer Nvidia.
 
I for one bow to no company. I go with what offers the best bang for my buck within the budget limits and at the time it is ATi with the HD 4xxx-series dominating Nvidia in terms of price. But for those with enough money to swim in Nvidia offers a wide variety of cards that have excellent performance.
It's all a personal preference. Sure you can link charts and whatnot proving in a million ways that the company X does thing Y better than company Z but what does that even matter. It all comes down to what YOU want and like.

My present computer is all Nvidia and Intel while my new one that I'll order is all AMD/ATi. :)
Gotta try em all.
 
I personally LOVE The Nvidia 9800GT, I have that on my gaming laptop (Gateway FX), the graphics are amazing.
 
The two brands always leapfrog each other. So like others in this thread have already stated, whichever gives the most value for the lowest cost is the one I'm going with.

Do you have facts and results to back up your statement? If not then may I suggest that you keep comments like this to yourself? It is really annoying and not to mention that it really shows your lack of will to keep your immaturity to yourself. I really hope that someday you will learn that not everyone will side with you, with those kinds of statements, ATi and Nvidia users alike.

Please think before posting, eGO does not need this garbage clogging up their forums, also, seeing that you are an =(e)=?, you should know better than to be posting something as ignorant as this.

but if you want to know witch one is better it depends on the games you play and nvidia had sli about a year before ati started to do crossfire so it is probably better to go sli since they might have better capability over crossfire
 
I currently use an ati card and love it. First let me explain my setup and go from there. I am running what amd calls the Dragon. Amd phenom 2 3 gig quad core standard clock, 8 gig of ddr 1066 only set to 800, with a 4870 x2 with 2 gig of ddr 5 ram.
I will admit I did have some problems with the card but that was because I set up before everything was corrected on the drivers (no fan control). But since they have corrected the drivers things have been going great.
I paid a little over 400 for my card and to get a close match from nvidia would have had to triple my money at least.
I am running all my games at max settings and have no problems what so ever with graphics at all. (Crysis, Ghost recon 2, tf2, hl2, etc)
The only thing I would warn on these cards is they run hot and so you need to make sure you have a good air flow and have the drivers updated so that you can crank up the fan speed while in game.

Now I don't personally hate Nvida, All the other cards I bought before this one were and liked how they worked, Just with my build I liked the Idea that my Motherboard, Cpu, and graphics card were designed to work together by one company.
 
i prefer nvidia but thats just because i like evga as a company and prefer the way nvidia cards look opposed to ati cards. most ati cards i see have a dragon or some chick in armor on them and to me they just seem tacky
