L4d2

Frankly, you're all pathetic
If you don't wanna buy L4D2 then don't.
If you do, then do!
There has been about 100 threads about this, all of them pointless.
It is your own opinion that will decide if you buy it or not...
To be honest, I'll just wait till someone makes the maps on L4D2 for L4D and play them using Zoey etc :P
If I'm right, and I have no reason why I shouldn't be, valve were kind enough to do some actual work and release an SDK for L4D, so people can make custom maps...
If someone makes them for L4D then I'll DL them, either way, I will NOT be buying L4D2...
I would, if they had come up with a half decent name...
 
Guys.. this is Valve's first time doing something like this.
Lets give them a chance and see how it goes, the Call of Duty franchise releases a new game every year, and I don't see any Boycott group for CoD:MW2.
And like Beta said before, Madden releases a new game every year as well, with minimal differences in each one.
Valve deserves a chance to release this game and I sure will support them, they have never given me a broken, undeserved game and I'm sure they will continue like that.
L4D2 will be a great game, it deserves the chance to be one.

Yeah, mainly because the game is already complete and they haven't promised updates that they are not releasing

Though you are right, you should give it a chance...
At least before you completely reject it, watch demos of it, read reviews and hear the full story about the game

The game looks beautiful frankly, and I would bet a large amount of the people in that boycott group are going to buy the game. I know I sure am, it looks amazing. And as of now, they're working on integration, so people that have L4D1, can play with people that have L4D2.

Also, I don't know why people are complaining... the updates are free. Don't get greedy now! I'd much rather have a few free updates than a bunch of ones I have to pay for. Here are some quotes from the big man himself, Gabe Newell, in the past few weeks.

"Doing a sequel in one year is new for Valve. But providing ongoing support for our titles after the initial launch isn't - it has been part of our philosophy since Half-Life was released ten and half years ago," said Valve president Gabe Newell

"We see no reason to change that and will continue to support the over three million customers in the L4D community. Some in the community are concerned that the announcement of L4D2 implied a change in our plans for L4D1. We aren't changing our plans for L4D1."

"In addition to the recently released Survival Pack, we are releasing authoring tools for Mod makers, community matchmaking, 4x4 matchmaking, and more new content during the coming months for L4D1," Gabe claimed. "We also agree with our customers that there needs to be an interoperability plan for players of L4D1 and L4D2, as multiplayer games are driven by the cohesiveness of their community."
 
I don't know why people are getting mad about this. We're still all going to buy i, because that's the only way to get the new content. Also, if they released it in updates, where would that leave us L4D 360 owners? (See 360 TF2)

That's only if you want the new content. Melee weapons? I'll pass. L4D on xbox IS up to date. I blame microsoft, and people who invest in consoles for TF2 not being updated, not steam. PC is where it's at.
 
Ill Probably buy it just cause im simply bored with the original, its too easy and The maps are boring now :P
 
Steam rolling, corner camping, rage quitting is why I stopped playing Left 4 Dead.
Left 4 Dead 2 solves this, so it is a definite buy.
 
yeah after i read all these posts, all i can say is that the boycott site is completly right, love me or hate me, i think they are right, but ill still probably buy it, i jsut hope that things are changed, even if they dont, meh, wtf can we do

Yes. Is. Not "Would be." Besides, it doesn't matter. Valve is still going to release L4D 2, and I'm still going to buy it.
 
That's nice, enjoy your game. I never said you couldn't buy it. I (EYE) am boycotting it. Not YOU (YEW.)
 
I think left 4 dead 2, will be good, the weapons such as the chainsaw should be pretty sick, I am certainly going to buy it because I love the first one so much, hopefully the next one should be more exciting.
 
I may buy it, I may not. the first one was really fun but it got boring after having only 4 campaigns to play. if the second one has more maps, modes, and overall variety than the first one, then I'll pick it up. if not, Left 4 dead 2 will not be in my game collection.

on a side note, my brother was convinced they were going to name the second one left 2 die. you can imagine his (and my) dissapointment.
 
there going to be a demo and free weekends like every other valve game so make your decisions when you got stuff to base them off of.

Left 2 Die sounds way better than L4D2.

I thought it would be L2D(Left 2 Die) also, and my younger brother also thought it was likely. Of course, we both reasoned having it be "Left TWO Die" would be a step backwards. It was called Left 4 Dead because there were 4 characters, obviously.
 
I think they are releasing a sequel way too soon, they basically bailed out on the promises that they promised L4D, the game seems like its the neglected child that they are trying to ignore when you look at how they update TF2 so much
 
Can't wait for this game to come out it's gonna be a BLAST! Meanwhile Im gonna ready the PC gamer mag on L4D2 again. :}
