Ok i usually play dod_kalt and my average ping is around 20 to 69 but recently in the past few weeks Ive been experiencing low 300 all the way up to 600's

is there a way i can lower it back down to my usual, i miss my favorite server T.T ill try anything to lower it

thanks in advance

ok, it might be one of several issues:

1. Are you running bittorrent? Is anyone else running p2p software? It can kill your bandwidth.
2. Run a virus/spyware/malware scan. It can kill your bandwidth.
3. Are you on wireless? Someone might be stealing your bandwidth.
4. Confirm your pingrate is affected only on that server. If it is just that server, then it is their problem and there is nothing you can do.

Yeah, torrents drain huge amounts of bandwidh.

Try enableing QoS on your router, it throttles the bandwidth to what needs it the most. That can help if you can't find whats causing your problem.

You might also want to try and make the ports for DOD:S at a higher priority than the other ports.

or it could be your ISP. Comcast is swingy like hell. The majority of the time my ping and internet speed is okay. But there are times where it's just awful. My ping skyrockets up to the 300-600's, takes like 4 seconds to get into google, and like 10 seconds to log into the ego page. It really fluctuates form time to time. If the lag is consistent then I say you check your router if you have one or replace your modem. You gotta be more specific buddy.

it was my torrent, so thanks for all the advice now if it happens again i could try some of yours

lol i had this same problem two but my computer was making a really weird noise so i open it up and take out my graphics card and what do i find, a sticker somewhere in my computer fell into my graphics card fan and after that my FPS dropped back down and the noise was gone but where that sticker came from idk
