Overclock CPU

Im new to overclocking and everything i know a bit about the mutiplier and the bus but not how to do all the voltages and stuff....

Does anyone have a guide on OC'ing? Cuz i couldn't find one on these forums =(*.

ehhh that CPU cooler is an iffy but should allow you to get maybe like .5 mhz or around/more idk.......wat mobo do u have also since each company has a diff bios and the setup might look a bit different

take a look at that, its a guide on OC Q9550 i believe, didnt read all of it but it seems to be a guide with lots of pictures. That person is using an asus bios i believe because it looks virtually the same as mine. I OC my Q6600 from 2.4 ghz to 3.7 ghz by the way but im using an OCZ Vendetta 2 which is suppossedly one of the best for the Q6600 at cooling.


*Edit.....nvm that person is asking for advice on overclocking past 3.7 but he seems to know what he is doing and the pictures of his bios will give u a good idea of wat u need to tweak in ur bios settings

Haha! What a coincidence. I'm running a Q6600 with a OCZ Vendetta 2 as well. I'm only at 3.0GHz @ 26-27C idle. I don't think I need to OC any more though. I basically run CoD at 200+ FPS consistently. And 250FPS constant in promod.

What graphics card are you running and wat resolution? are you on all high too?? I achieve around 200 FPS in CS source with an ATI 4850 overclocked but i got a bad card so it doesnt go high, i have every setting set to max including AA and such.

To be honest, AA isn't really necessary for me. I hate ANY type of delay, even the slightest. I'm running an eVGA 8800GT. I just turned off a lot of the effects but everything else is high.

mY MOBO is an Asus p5n72-t Premium 780i sli

read the site i gave u, they are also using an asus board with uses the same bios as yours so you should be fine. Google is your friend

The only voltages you'll really be messing with is the CPU, memory, and maybe the northbridge volts. All the other ones come in after serious overclocking.
