Question about Turbine Server

[Esseff]

Is the turbine server located in a different server cluster / location? I always seem to have higher latency in that server compared to the others...I'm always in the 100 range on that server compared to 50 - 60 on our other servers.

If its not does anybody have any idea why there would be higher latency on that server compared to the others?

If'n I'm not mistaken, Turbine is being provided by our friends at Verizon FiOS (BTW, I <3 Verizon FiOS), in a datacenter on the West Coast, as opposed to eGO's fleet which is located in SoftLayer's Datacenter (BTW, I <3 SoftLayer) in Dallas, Texas.

So! Yes, the latency is different than latencies elsewhere.

AutoDMC is correct. Turbine is on one of the two boxes donated to us by Verizon, it sits in Seattle.

I think the Seattle servers are also SoftLayer because eGO is happy with the service they get in Dallas.

Had I but posted a minute earlier, instead of building my typical wall of text (BTW, I <3 Walls of Text) I might have beaten xosniper's excellent, no frills, spot on answer; sadly I fell short and therefore must bow to xo's superiority.

That's what I should say, but then again, it's xosniper we're talking about (BTW, I *$&% xosniper). Sorry, I already drank the Accol-aide. You can have some old potato chips I've had stuck under my PC for a week, though, if you want them xo.
