I Just got TF2 and was wondering if someone could teach me the ropes on how to play the game and all that other things that go with the game. i would really appreciate it for the help :)

Best teacher is experience.
Though...
I would highly recommend "How To Play [class]" videos on Youtube.
Very informative and entertaining to watch.

Yeah, really can't "teach" we can show you the game mechanics like rocketjumping, but the rest you need to learn your self

My first recommendation would be to play medic, cause you will rarely here someone complain about your performance, plus it's a great way to watch some of the best players and what technique they use.

after that, just play every class and see what ones you like. I always say no one is extremely good at all 9 classes, most are good at 2 or 3, some will be good at up to 5, but that's about it. just find what you like and the practice it. :)

Tip: Don't play Spy unless you want to get flamed.... by pyros.
I have been waiting so long to use that joke!

I would second this because you'll more often than not be following someone, and you'll start to learn the levels with some defense :D

Soldier or Pyro might be another good class to try out. Easy to use (point and fire :D) in the beginning with enough of a learning curve to progress. You'll start to pick up new and interesting tricks and tactics as you gain more experience and push the limits of what the class can do.

Welcome to the wacky world of Team Fortress 2.

How to get healed. A reference for players and medics in TF2.

When you start out just have fun with it. Pick a class that there is only one of on the server and follow that player. Playing all the classes gives you a feel for their strengths and weaknesses.

Don't get hung up on the unlockable weapons. They each have strong and weak points. They are supposed to be balanced. Having used some of the unlockables for a while I have put them away and gone back to the originals. It's a matter of matching your game play.

If you have a mic use it but keep your talk short and focused on the game. When you put your crosshairs on people their name pops up. Use names when you communicate.

Read the link at the top of this post. It's not just for medics.

Most important. Have fun.

ps. Get yourself to an admin class for tf2. There are game specifics you need to know.

The How to Play videos on youtube that ToiletPastries mentioned helped me out when I first started, those videos definitely wont hurt to check out. Ive looked at some even after I was ok with a class and learned more from them.

like the others said we cant really teach you how to play but if u want i can show you a lot of shortcuts that are extremely useful for a spy, just pm me or contact me on steam and il be happy to show you some shortcuts

QFT. I think this is very good advice. I'd recommend medic and pyro to anyone starting off. And like ToiletPastries said, the "How to" videos on YouTube can give you so good info to get you started.

Welcome to TF2! Well I would definitely have to agree that experience is the best teacher. Like others said Medic would be a good way to gain knowledge about the different classes while becoming a good medic when your team needs you ;D

Also as others said, YouTube is a good place to catch videos of people demonstrating proper ways to play the different classes. Stick with a few classes to build your skill in; you don't have to master them all just yet :)

Well yeah, just go out there and give it a shot when you're ready! Don't be afraid of being criticized; just pay attention to people who are offering constructive criticism to help you're game! I hope I see you around the servers :D

Welcome to TF2 Blasphemy. You'll find its ALOT different than DOD:S :P
