soundmax is uninstalled... I just played all went well, but when I quit the game game hl2.exe crashed.

I am verifying files now... As for the crash, the game will freeze or just crash. some times I'll get a hl2.exe window that says game stopped responding. Never get a blue screen though. I'll uninstall sound max and give it a go.

I figured there wasn't much I could do... AT&T dsl isn't the fastest but its a lot cheaper then Road Runner. Guess I'll have to live with 100 ping

Is there anything I can do to lower my ping? I am on AT&T dsl - running dual boot XP and Vista (32 bits) On the TF2 server I average around 100... :(
