This is a wonderful video made by GMAN from the TF2 teamfortress group. It shows how the lag compensation works in conjuction with the hitbox. It will also explain how you can run behind cover and still be shot by a sniper. IMO it shows how face stabs, backburner not critting etc etc happens...
