Oh also any suggestions as to good netbooks that don't break the bank? I have no experience with them. Also I don't need a monitor for my desktop as i have a 21 inch flat screen dell monitor (it may be 23 inch actually). So that will cut the cost a little bit. Edit again: I think I will got to...

Hey everyone so this thread has given me a lot to think about before I make my decision. I want to say thanks for all the suggestions so far! hope to hear more.

Thanks for the help so far! I have considered the buying two computers one for gaming and one for class but I am not sure I have enough scratch to do that, and i am positive I don't have the know how. I will check out those sites however.

So the time has finally (huzza) come to get a new computer. I am replacing my slow slow slow laptop with a new much faster laptop. The laptop I currently have was a mistake in a nutshell. I purchased the college package deal laptop and was not thinking clearly (excited about college, parents...

I am so pumped! NO MORE GFWL! I also went to THQ's website and ordered my copy of the collectors edition because it also contains the Tyranid pack (exclusive to THQ's website) and the Orc pack (exclusive to steam). I am first and foremost a Space Marine/Imperial Guard fan because I played...

While I have always been a huge Pierce fan, I mean I have met the guy and all (funny story ask me about it sometime) but I have recently come to appreciate Moore's bonds after i learned that he did most of his own stunts and he has that epic fight over the parachute with jaws.

Although I am in the TF2 Division i play DoD source, CSS, and other games too

my PSN is hackNslash43

Today i noticed when i pulled up the task manager after tf2 crashed on me yet again, that the memory usage is only at 52% on my computer but my cpu usage is at 100%. Would this mean that my computer doesn't need more RAM but needs a new processor?

I just defraged the game, and I set my game to multicore rendering but I didn't see any improvement from it. I could fix up my old desktop but it keeps suffering from nv4 infinite loop crashes...

So I need to upgrade my video card on a laptop that isn't even a year old yet? And why would it work fine several months ago and suck now? If I do have to upgrade am i going to have to do it again in another year, or should i resurrect my desktop and upgrade that instead?

But my computer seems to have performance issues sometimes with just two or three windows of Firefox open, and that shouldn't be a graphics issue.

Actually the new version of steam killed most of my games. I use to run l4d and l4d2 just fine on medium to high graphics now I can barely run them on low settings.

the big issue is that my computer only gets 40-60 FPS for a few minutes then it tanks. I cant even play on the blackmesa server all that water makes my fps drop and stay at 9 FPS and never recover.
