Clean install is annoying, but it's the only way it fixes it because the "bug" corrupts a windows file.

No worries, you just misunderstood what I said.

Right, not saying he has to do a clean install or anything, was just saying that was the only way I was able to fix it.

Sounds like the same issue I had, and that issue is a bug within the newer windows, more specifically Windows 10. The only way I was able to resolve it was do a clean install unfortunately.

I did that too and it still would crash. See previous post on possible fix.

I fixed it I believe, played for couple hours straight with no crashes, when it would crash like 10-20 mins into playing. Do not UNINSTALL the game, but delete the entire Day of Defeat Source folder. Path file should be C > Program Files (x86 in my case) > Steam > Steamapps > Common / Once you...
