EdgeGamers® Officially Earns Registered Trademark
Today is a historic day for EdgeGamers® as our name officially earns its registered trademark from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, fully owned and recognized by this community, not licensed. This monumental milestone comes after many years of behind-the-scenes work from our founders and current Chief Executive Officer,
GardenGroveVW
.In 2009, EdgeGamers was forced to relinquish our original registered trademark following a dispute with an entity claiming ownership of the word “edge” within the gaming space. What followed were years of legal arguments, challenges, and work to reclaim what had been part of EdgeGamers from the beginning. In 2011 and again in 2015, supporters throughout EdgeGamers donated to legal fund drives despite Community Management being extremely limited in the details we were able to publicly share. More than ten years after that final legal fund drive, we have finally crossed the finish line, registered mark in hand.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed throughout all of these years. We also want to recognize the efforts of several very special individuals we simply would not be here without: @JohnT, @Artimus, @Kendle, @USCG Hammer, and many more who helped carry this effort forward.

EdgeGamers was founded on July 1st, 2006 by JohnT and Artimus with just a website and a single Day of Defeat Source Avalanche server. Our communities' foundation rests on honor, loyalty, and integrity. There is a heavy emphasis on maturity, fair play, helping others, and having a fun and competitive gaming experience that all can enjoy.
