I'd speak with a Basic trainer such as smirnoff or Geno-Knight they can give you the tips you need to play and atleast get kills.

Yeah, Basic Training's a great way to improve your game, man, so definitely look into that. Try and get to know the maps and the weapons, and just play—I remember I used to go like 1 kill per 14 deaths back when I started so don't get discouraged whatever you do. Get to know players, and I'm sure the people here at EdgeGamers would be more than happy to help. There's also a couple tutorials here on the forums, like a dust2 survival guide and everything. Other than that, well, just aim for the head and try not to get knifed by the more courageous xP

I don't think that training is a prerogative right now for him.
He needs to get a good/basic feel for some of the weapons first. When you die, don't get all discouraged and walk away or not pay attention. WATCH people. You can learn a lot from this, especially from being new.

Just play and play. You need to get some hours under your belt first. Once you've done that, then come back and ask for some suggestions for some specific things. I'm glad to answer any questions you have once you've put in your own time. I think everyone should try to learn on their own first then get help. Add me to steam friends if you'd like some help later.

Yeah, you have to get a feel for the weapons first. Don't expect to become awesome within the first week of playing although it is possible. I would recommend just playing around and trying different guns, a Deathmatch server could also be an option with instant spawn.

When i first started to play css i ALWAYS Played on one certain server.All weapons on (except smoke),16k every round and they were was a ranking system so i could keep track of my stat's and see if i was improving.Playing on different servers all the time could be a problem.

You will find that its harder to get used to the maps and weapons available on that particularly server.(The server i played on was 24/7 office, that's why im sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo 1337 at it )

I then joined that server's community and began to spread out my choice of servers.Eventually i found our office server and began to play there.I was still looking for a clan as n00bs101 was just a community so i applied here.I was alright at first but with Quix pwning me all the time i watched him and took in HIS tactics and changed then a little to suit me.Then one day when playing on n00bsunlimited i did a 36 kill streak,0 deaths, and someone said !w ChromeX.i didn't have a FBG account.So i signed up that very day.(Ive reset my stats now ^^)

Burst fire/single fire is your friend.

If you dont know, bursting/single firing is when you either click the mouse just once and let go immidealty(single) or click it a few times and wait (bursting)

If you hold down the mouse button, your rarely going to get anything done.

Thats some of the best advice that can be given.

If you just start playing the game you will eventually get the hang of how to play and what weapons to use. I suggest starting out using the P90 as your weapon of choice.

lol....aim for the head with clicks of the mouse, if with a sniper, try not to run as much.

i got the feel for ALL the guns by playing gungame alot. if your interested look for servers that say Gungame in the title. You have to get a kill with every weapon to win. Plus its fun.

start with the AK and only use the AK, if you get good with it you'll be good with every other gun in the game other than snipers
to really get used to your mouse sensitivity, scout/awp...snipe like crazy and you'll get really great knowing your sens, making you more accurate with every other gun

I recommend playing Deathmatch and GunGame first to get used to it. After that, start playing like a pro. Oh and also talk to Legend, he'll give you a hug
