Atm I have a lvl 4 paladin and a 2 rogue.

By the way, do I have to purchase something to go higher than 4?

Sort of.

You can either do one of 2 things.

1. Buy a Copper Token from the DDO Store for around 100 and some odd TB.

2. Continue playing and accrue exp up to 2 more levels worth and wait for a token to drop randomly.


So, if you have TB you don't mind spending on that, buy one, otherwise continue to level and wait for one to drop, which is what I recommend.

Under the combat section is where I'm having the problems with it.

It's hard to tell you how much of a pain this is at level 4-5 for melees just by looking at it. The best way to experience the problems is to go try and kill things yourself.

is it the added swing animations that messes things up or what?

the swing speeds are now VERRRRRRRRRRY slow.

I just started. Supposedly they had a hot fix today from 8:30AM-10:30AM EST. Not sure what it did because I just started playing.

I made a character in Thelanis. I think I'm going to need some help. I'm just questing now.

The hotfix was for some crashing problems the game was experiencing after the recent update, nothin' much to worry about.

I won't be on tonight but leave any character names you have and either I or (supposedly) one of the other guys who play can hop on and help you learn it.

The slow-as-hell combat is now fixed. You will actually attack faster as a base than what you did before the last update, and to compensate Haste was scaled back a bit. TWF also lost one "invisible" attack very later in levels to balance it with Two-Handed fighting.

Feel free to play your melees again!
