Hello there, are you tired of having no variety in your map's soundtrack, discos in jail servers being repetitive? Well look no further than the thousands of streaming radio stations on the internet!

Most radio streams come in a handy .wax (Windows Audio Shortcut) format. Some advantages and disadvantages are listed below.

Pros
  • Small file size (434 Bytes)
  • Variety
  • Tons of songs
  • Sometimes live content

Cons
  • Possible Network Strain
  • Occasional unsensored content
  • Not controllable

Edit: Wow, I failed. Anyone know how I can get hammer to recognize the .wax file?

Hammer will only recognize .wav 's and .mp3 's... nothing else

The insane degree of fail in this post is failing.

My lovely .wax file links back to a playlist file -.-

In fact, all I can find are playlist files. Still, I'm going to try and force source to do this (Typing in the path and hoping it plays)

CSS Just doesn't have the engine to contact a server and request the file...

Get a sound converter. If you happen to have soundbooth check if it can open .wax, if you don't have it, look for something else cause it's adobe and expensive.

.wax isn't an audio file, its a play list in a sense.

The !radio command uses coding in the background to allow your game to hear the sound, that doesn't integrate into a map.
