Mouse keeps locking up in CoD4! Help!

Hi gang, I'm currently in London visiting some relatives so any gaming I do is on my laptop. My cousin's wireless dongle thingy isn't so good so I can't play online but I'm tearing through the CoD4 single player campaign mode, except for this one problem.

Every so often, my mouse freezes up, usually when I'm facing the wrong way, LOL, does anyone know what would cause this? I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, and the pad on the laptop works fine, I just don't want to use it Think the mouse is done for?

could be the wire of the mouse. They usually go where the wire enters the front of the mouse. To test it while moving the mouse from side to side slowly, with your other hand move the wire to 90 degrees to one side then the other. If the mouse cursor pauses then you wire is bad.

Did it come with a CD to install the mouse with?

It came with a disc, yes, but it's in the States.

The cord is fine, apparently.

If you mouse came with the drivers, just download them from the net and install them.

You can probably find the drivers on Microsoft's homepage.

That will most likely fix your problem.
