No they call using third party programs cheating. They have yet to do anything to crack down on idlers in real servers.

Does anybody realize there's a mod called TurboTF2 that allows players to do this?

eh there not coming into servers and messing with them for hours so who care valve is just doing it for shits n' giggles
when i play lan games at collage it is always funny when whoevers hosting usually me turns cheats on for a round especially in games like tf quake or unreal

All you people who call them cheaters and such, you're forgetting that they are the developers of the game. If you made a game which became hugely successful, are you telling me that you wouldn't make a couple fun weapons to give to yourself to enjoy the few spry moments in between working on continually patching and updating the game?
I mean, honestly, some of you are becoming selfish about this stuff. You have paid no more than $20 for this game. They have released 7 updates for the game, free of charge, provided countless fixes, listened to the community and let them be actively involved with the development of TF2, and all you do is complain. You used the idler and got items removed? Sorry, but that's your own fault. I don't know of a single major game that allows you to use a complete third party program to simulate doing something on servers.
Let them have what fun they get, because they are the ones who provide you with constant free content, all without complaining about it to YOU.
