Well I'm thinking about buying tf2 because it looks fun, but I don't want to join without knowing a few things....

How much is it
What map is the best in your opinion

You will most likely see this guy in the future

Prepare to die

$19.99, or $29.99 for the Orange Box (steam store)
everyone has their own opinion, but personally, Blackmesa is the best map.

Knowing is half the battle.

Doesn't matter, you'll have more fun per dollar than any other game.

BlackMesa

He knows the future! Witch, Witch!

Prepare to die

Dying is easy, comedy is hard.

Yeah, I like dustbowl a good amount personally. TF2 is not like CS:S at all lol

It is well worth the money though, despite Valve trying to ruin it.

THis is a personal opinion but black mesa is probably the third worst map i've ever played, again, just my opinion.

Some good maps are the pl maps such as badwater basin or gold rush. Also cp maps like dust bowl fastlane and steel (once you learn your way around it) are all good maps.

I'd start out on the 2fort map. It seems to be pretty good for getting used to the nine classes, and typically most people play the map in a deathmatch style, so it's good for beginners. Then, you can get to learn the game modes on other maps.

I recommend these ones.

Control Points: Gravelpit, Warpath, Dustbowl, Orange_x3
Capture the Flag: 2Fort (any other recommendations, anyone?)
Payload: Goldrush, Cashworks
King of the Hill: Any map really.
Arena: Any map really.

1. The price has been said multiple times.

2. My personal favorite is 2Fort IR. Yes this is a very good place to go when you're just beginning. No respawn times, learn the classes, and cause as much blood and gore explosions as possible. Most people move on to more strategical and team-oriented maps. I, sadly never moved on :P But I do enjoy Dustbowl, BlackMesa, and Badwater on occasion.

Yeah, 2fort IR is a great beginner's map. I would highly suggest AGAINST BlackMesa, unless you've been playing the game for a while and you're used to the classes.

Also as a recommendation, I'd start as a Scout or Soldier. They're good beginner classes, I found. Or, if you found you're dying too often and you'd like to be credit to team, go Engineer or Medic and follow the examples of your peers. That way, you can watch the action semi-safely from a distance before jumping right into the fray, and still be a good team assistant.

Kamon thanks so much!
You gave me more what I asked and I appreciate it :)
No confirmation yet, buy I'm sure my mom won't mind if it's $10 LOL

Tf2 is is very fun game, unlike CSS it's kinda more well... "Class Based" but I found that after playing CSS, TF2 is good if you just wanna relax and have some fun. Then I got over CSS and just started playing TF2. My fav map is Black Mesa, but it really depends on the player and what they feel comfortable with. Just a tip, if you don't really have the best computer tf2 may not be the game for you... It's very fun but with that joy comes some fear. You can run it with most stuff on normal but the game look great with everything on high! Hope you have fun and the game is priced around $20 but you really get a better deal if you just buy "The Orange Box" The games in that are all fun

TF2 is amazing, and you will definitely have fun.

Now buy the game already.

You'll see me tomorrow maybe, I have to ask tonight.
If she says then, oh wait I start school tomorrow!!
Well you'll see me in the week end if yes

think about doing the Orange box on steam, u wont have to travel and its got like 5 games in 1 package, but Blackmesa and Egypt are both Great maps to play on i suggest Egypt b4 u play blackmesa to get a feel of the classes, Hope to see u soon =D

Glad you decided to get the last FPS game you will ever play.

Best Map imo Steel.

See you online and if you dont see me its already to late.

You have the price, now come down to the Pit! Of Gravel that is, Gravel Pit is one of the most frustrating and difficult maps about 75% of the time, and if you can get good at that, then you should be good anywhere (ask Low on Petro), but its my favorite map anyway.
