Im am ordering the parts for my new comp next weekend, my budget is $500 without shipping, I already have a case and mice and keyboard and monitor. This is what I have picked out so far.
Processor: AMD Phenom x4 9650 @ 2.3GHz
Motherboard:Asus AMD 740G Micro ATX
RAM: 2x 2GB Patriot DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 260
Hard Drive: Samsung 500GB

I still need a couple of case fans, if anyone knows of a good fan please post it.
I am open to suggestions about the parts.

Nice. BUT, i think you should hold off and wait for the Nvida 300 series/ATI 5 series to pick up a 275/285/295 alot cheaper.

i would recommend getting the Phenom II 550 BE and unlock the other cores for a cheap(but still good) quad, and the original Phenom quads sucked

The new I5 have been released yesterday and they are faster than the amd chip and the same price. So you can now build a I system for the same price you can build an amd and it will be faster.

you can only do that with specific mobos, not sure on the pricing of those mobos

I usually recommend newegg and other such sites for parts but for fans I was referred to this site by foxtrotniner a while back. http://jab-tech.com/Case-Fans-c-40.html

Go with the Yate Loon's. They are cheap, push a lot of air, quite(even more if you have a fan controller). When I looked into the fans they are the most popular with starcraft players from korea and such. They play for long hours at a time. They have some other familiar brand names on the site as well that you can find on newegg too but at a bit cheaper price. I haven't bought any fans in a while. I bought 4 yate loons for about 20 bucks which would have cost me the same but just for one fan on newegg. I am talking also the fans being similar in performance not just any fan. So you get the idea its more bang for your buck.

I have ordered from there and it is trusted but if you are concerned I would recommend buying a disposable visa card or any disposable credit card to use.

For fans I would recommend the scythe S-Flex, they are really high quality and push a lot of air with a minimal amount of noise....

wouldnt you only need to have full access to your BIOS?
nope

i personally have the scythe slip streams. amazing fans...very quiet for the air flow they push out there, and cheap too...10 bucks

You should hold off on the 200, If you Plan on playing average games, get the 9600 GT by Nvidia, and maybe SLI it, or you can wait off till the 300 series come out.

I have changed my mind a little.
Processor: AMD Phenom II 945 @ 3.0GHz
Motherboard: MSI K9N6PGM2-V2
RAM: OCZ Blade series 2x 2GB PC2 6400
GPU: Galaxy Nvidia 9800gt 512mb
PSU: Eagle Tech 550W (I may be getting a free one from a friend so this is not a diffident)
Hard drive: Samsung 500GB 7200rpm
Fans: 2x Rosewill RFX 80mm Blue LED

still open to suggestions.
