Did I Break A Vent Rule?

Just a little bit confused here. I went into Vent and went to the general room where the most people were, hoping to strike up a conversation and what not. So I listen for a minute or two just sitting back and doing stuff and everyone starts leaving for a different room. I follow, but then I'm kicked out...I'm the only one kicked.

I'm not complaining or anything, and I didn't want to go back in to ask about it because I didn't want to invoke the wrath of an admin, but did I do something wrong? I was just trying to be friendly...
 
Moved out of the room.

But it was a general room. It just confused me..

It just happened again! With different people.

As far as i know general rooms are aloud by all. unless one of the main moderator people say otherwise (which will usually be in their comments) your aloud to go there. So :/ idk man.

Whatever, I guess nobody wants to talk to me. I'll just leave Vent then...

I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble, but if they don't want anyone coming in, why not go to a private server or just ask me to leave, I'd be more than gracious. Now I just feel bad :(

I've been moved out of rooms as well, even if I was the only one in the room. I think it just happens sometimes.
 
Maybe try saying "Hello" when you come in. Its possible that whoever was in there was weirded out by the fact that someone they didnt know was following them just listening. Heck, half the time I join a vent channel theyll get either a 'moo' or a 'meh' It isnt always easy to take the 1st step when trying to meet new ppl, but its often worth it :)

Don't feel bad. The person who moved u should feel bad. In the general rooms everyone is welcomed. It doesn't matter who it is....whoever moved u needs to feel bad cause they broke a rule. U didn't.

Yea that's not right if they were moving you out for no reason. If you have a name of the person that moved you, you could possibly go ask them about it.
 
your always welcome to come in vent to talk to me, or on steam, i am usually around lol, and i dont bite, just snipe :)
 
If you were not moving your mouse at all or not doing anything on your computer, it automoves you to DAK after a while.

No one asked me to leave, and I hadn't been on for 2 minutes when I was moved.

Its alright, but if it happens again, I'll take down some names and talk to someone about it...
 
You can automatically get moved to the DAK channel if you're AFK long enough (or appear to be I think, not sure how it works). There's always the GP channel as you know, I can really only be on on weekends though, but you never know.
 
yeah. well if your wanting to meet new people your always welcome to chat me up on vent or steam ^.^ ill introduce u to people.
 
No matter waht

No one should be moved out of ventrilo channels unless they do something wrong.

Its basically ABUSING powers.
Whoever it was needs to stop.

Best thing to do is ask the nicely from the channel. If they dont respond then move them,but dont be a jerk and just move them. There are people in vent that wanna meet new people, and are in ventrilo to meet them and talk. Not to join ventrilo and be moved and then feel pretty bad about it. It makes them feel unwelcome and I myself would feel unwelcome and would take the name down and go straight to Council with this.

This thread has just made me very angry at the eGO community.
Were a friendly community for a reason. Now moving people out of channel without asking them nicely isnt friendly at all.

Altho I do understand if its a meeting. But the channel should say Meeting on it and we have a meeting channel for that reason.

Thats my 2 cents
