help on picking computer

No, you can build a much better computer than a C2Q 8200 + 9500GT for $670. Let us know how much you can spend on a computer and what games you play the most, and we can help you build one.

Never built your own? Perfect! Now is the time in your life to learn! It's very easy to put everything together in a case, and we'll do the hard work of picking out the components for you. Then you just put it together, toss a windows cd in, and boot it up.

Yeah you can build a better one for the same price or cheaper. I looked on Newegg and you could get the same comp but with a AMD phenom II 945 and a nvidia 9800gt for $600.

ya you're basically just paying for assembly and like a 30% profit mark up, which is completely easy to avoid by building one yourself as already mentioned.
gotta figure out what you do with your computer, what you will utilize and build one for like 500-600 bucks that will blow that thing out of the water

The question that applies here, before all the other comments above, Can u build a pc yourself??
Do u have the knowledge to do it? , not that its a big deal but, And most important, Do u want to build it yourself??
What ur gonna use it for?? Gaming only??

alright well i have a 800 $ budget and i looked on newegg but it just didnt satisfy me

I guess I should ask, are you capable or comfortable with building one yourself? If so, what specs would you like to see, or what are the 3 top things that the computer will be used for? Is this something you'll want to upgrade piece by piece, or have it hold you over long enough to win the lottery and buy a super-ultra-mega gaming system ;) ? I can throw a Newegg list together for you, just let me know! Oh yeah, do you need an OS too, or are you going Win7 for now?

definitely not upgrading it, what im looking for is something maybe quiet and able to run tf2 on high, right now i get like 10 fps on all low >.> so thats why

and yes i can build it myself i will have help from friends of mine for that

Alright bro. Right now I have a few assignments/exams to pound out, but when I'm done, and after a TF2 break ( :D ) I'll post something for you.

FYI, I got my wife a P45 Gigabyte board, Intel e5200 (oc'ed to 3.3 Ghz), 4 Gigs of RAM, a Coolermaster 590 case, a WD AAKS 320 hard drive, and Corsair power supply for around $600. I threw an old 8800gt in there and an OS (bought) and voila, she can run TF2 maxed, L4D maxed, and besides some AA, almsot everything else maxed too. (Except Crysis, GTA4, etc..)

Go to Newegg.com and create a wish list, make it public and do some lookin! That's half of the fun. :)

About $650.

Add a couple fans and an OS, and you're set.
