I just switched out my G45 with a GIGABYTE P45/P43 MOBO i have it at 355x8.5 making 3017.6MHZ, Q9550.
I want to overclock my DDR2 800,
Any suggestions?

RAM ratios. You actually want to under clock your RAM to 710Mhz if you are running at 355 FSB. From there play with the RAM timings and see if you can lower the latency a bit.Personally, I'm against overclocking.
It just causes some really random problems, mostly related to overheating.
Overclocking a little can help though, remember to only overclock to what you can use.
Just unlink your RAM and CPU FSB, there is not much gain (if any) if you link them.
I overclock everything, even my phone is overclocked :biggrin_old:
I would run it at 400x 8.5 = 3400mhz. That would put the memory linked and synced at 800mhz. This is a pretty mild overclock for that chip and you may even be able to do it with stock voltages.
As always, when you overclock, be sure to test for stability and watch your temps.
That's not as much of an issue as it used to be. I've had my Core 2 Duo (Can't remember the model number) OC from 1.86 to 3ghz since day one. Never had a crash or a heat related issue. Oh and that's on a stock intel heatsink and fan. That being said I've never bothered to OC my ram.
