My Rig:

Windows 7 Pro 64bit
Gigabyte P35-DS3L bios=F9(newest)
E7200 Core2 Duo Wolfdale 2.53ghz
4gb PC800 DDR2
EVGA Geforce 9600 GSO 384MB
250GB SATA

Last night I was playing CoD4 for around 4 hours and the first 3.5 hours it seemed fine. I was playing on Shadows Scary Server and then a 10 man with TomsSound and all during that time it seemed fine. But after the 10 man I jumped in the Crossfire server and noticed that it was slightly choppy. If I dont move it seems fine but when I start moving, it gets slightly choppy. Basically, it runs fine for a few seconds and then hitches for a split second and then its fine again. It does it randomly every few seconds. So this is what I've done:

Rebooted
Rebuilt my CoD4 profile
Completely removed CoD4 and all my settings and reinstalled CoD4
Uninstalled and reinstalled video drivers

At this point I thought maybe it was an issue with Windows 7 because I had just installed it the day before, so I went back to 32bit XP Pro SP3 AND ITS STILL DOING IT!!!

So now I figure maybe its the drivers so I uninstall the 190.62 drivers(which I was using the 64bit on Windows7 and 32bit for XP) and install the 186.18 driver which are hailed as being the best right now and ITS STILL DOING IT!!!

My videocard is completely stock, never overclocked. Speedfan shows my temp at 65c when gaming and 60c at idle. Are these temps too high?

As far as my CoD4 settings, I have all the extras turned off, running at 1280x1024, no AA, all texture settings to "normal". My Nvidia settings all default except I force V-sync on and turn triple buffering on, which is how I have it always set.

I remember awhile ago when patch 1.7 was released, it caused stuttering problems for me but it seems like this time its a different type of studdering. I remember the fix for the stuttering in 1.7 was fixed by manually updating punkbuster, which I have done through all the scenarios here. I dont know what else to do except buy a new video card, power supply, and monitor!(I'm actually going to do this anyways for MW2)

I need your help guys!!!

Hmm... It might be your connection. If you can, try and put the GPU fanspeed to 100% or try and run the game on the lowest settings.

It happens in single player as well. I turned down the res to 640x480 and the problem still happens...

somethink like this happend to me before but when i un-installed it and re-installed it worked

My Windows 7 is legit, even though Im using XP now. Also, I ran the lagometer and the top line(blue) has spots of yellow at the time of the stutters. My card runs around 65c when gaming but I dont know if thats too hot. I never checked the temp before, so I dont have a baseline.

Those temps are fine but they may have fallen sense your 4 hour game play. this may not be the issue but over heating my be the problem.

Thanks for the help guys. After spending HOURS troubleshooting, I can finally verify that it is Punkbuster. Whenever I join a server with it enabled, it stutters, but when I join a server without it, it runs perfect. I have also tested this hosting my own game with PB enabled and disabled. Now the question is, can it be fixed... I will contact PB and see what they say.
