Hey guys, I'm planning on buying a HDTV for my PS3. I've been looking at many TV's and I know I'm going to get a 32 inch with 1080p. The thing is I don't know if I should get 60Hz or 120Hz. Note, I'm really just going to be using the TV for my PS3. Some people told me 60Hz will cause blurriness to my games but my friends says that 60Hz is perfectly fine.

So please reply, 60Hz or 120Hz?

first off the 120hZ are better and just so you know not all ps3 games are 1080 some are only 720

the 120hz tvs usally have higher contrast ratios that will give better shading in the the picture. It will refresh more often just like the lower refresh rate of a computer monitor is better (2ms is better than 5ms but both are playable)

The big question is do you think the extra money is worth it? Go to a store and compare the tvs you want to see is you notice a difference in them.

The thing you want to consider here is this: will you primarily play games or watch movies?

If you are going to watch a fair share of movies on the system then you should go with the 120 hZ. Otherwise, the 60 Hz is fine.

Primarily I'm going to be using it for my PS3 to be specific.. Modern Warfare 2 :)

So I should get the 60Hz then.

If your only using it for the PS3 the difference between the two is not going to be too noticable, I would go for which ever one is cheaper.

I would get the 120, since u may use for other stuff, movies, tv, other than games in the near future.

Does the PS3 even support 120hz? Thus far, the only known use I've seen for 120hz are the Nvidia 3D glasses.

Hmm, I just checked the web and looks as if the TV's fake the 120 on things that output in 60, such as "Auto Motion Plus (Samsung)".

Ah well, to each his own. Enjoy your new toys man! Just make sure to get your settings right ;) .

yea i agree netmare, i have only ever heard about 120hz when the nvidia 3d glasses were getting reviewd. But i know that 120hz actually shows a difference with frame rates because with 60hz the screen refreshes itself 60 times per second, but with 120hz it's 120 times per second so 120hz will have be smoother when playing war games or racing and alot clearer.

I think go for 120hz. You dont want to wish you bought the 120hz after you bought the 60.
