Borderlands OMG

It looks kinda bleh, just a run through shooter... There is a lot of guns, but I have a feeling they'll all just be slighly reskined off the base ones.

the article i read stated the number of weapons is "near limit-less" as you can take interchangable parts and retool them to your liking in keeping with scrounging and looting a-la mad max.

IF the open world idea - and drivable vehicles, are mixed with multiplayer co-op, that would be EPIC

To elaborate on some posts.

CEO of Gearbox said (from a July 28, 2009 interview) there is "millions" of guns, meaning minimum of 2,000,000 guns. Do not be mistaken, there isn't a minimum of 2,000,000 different weapon models, but of some of the same models with different attributes.

This game would be played far too seriously without the current art-style it now has, as an example, I would be much more concerned about scary monsters and psychotic killers than having fun and leveling if it had a "realistic" art-style. The shading will help me relax and play, rather than worry about things.

XeroX - there is singleplayer and multiplayer in Borderlands. Singleplayer is you running around the open world killing, leveling, and looting. You can then bring your same character online and party with up to three other players. If you kill, level, and loot stuff online - it will then be saved on that character - allowing you to use everything you found online/offline on the other game mode. The game is meant to be cooperative, unless of course you want to duel a friend while you guys are running around, in that case you melee a player - they melee you back - and you fight (I haven't seen anything about duel endings, death or surrender).

I am definitely picking this up. This will definitely be on GOTY lists everywhere.

I still can't believe the quality of games coming out soon - Borderlands, Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead, All Points Bulletin. All these games will be installed and played very often on my computer.

Lol, worry about things in a game? I don't see how thats a good reason, i'd think it would be more fun getting scared with friends than having it just be a run through shooter where the enemies are just fun/ another mob.

I really hope that there will be varying difficulties (stupid of me not to assume so). And the Highest difficulty would be extremely hard. It's funny, when I am playing versus with people, I want there to be little to no competition and just dominate the opponent; however, when playing CO-OP games, I want it to be as difficult as possible but still manageable

I'm excited about this game - it has 4-player co-op (hoping it's something like L4D via steam)

I like the FPS over RPG formula as opposed to the RPG over FPS; that is, your skill is more important than your stats. If you kill someone, it's because you aimed true and shot em, not because your small weapons stats were maxed out.

Gearbox wants you to be focused on cooperative gameplay and building up you and your friends' characters, not being scared of things.

Although still maintaining the Mature rating it has, the new art-style appeals to a more broad range of gamers. The game has extreme amounts of detail, regardless of the shading - so gamers that enjoy a scare and gamers that enjoy leveling and scavenging for gear/equipment will both be entertained and pay their (what I assume to be) $59.99 for the game.

Amazon has it for $46 on PC

Actually the predominant reason for the change in art style is to differ itself from...well pretty much every game this generation. This system cycle has been dominated with a color pallet of gray and brown.

Would anyone have taken notice of the game without the change in art style? Probably, but it wouldn't be picking up anywhere as much steam as it is now.

Spam.

Uh hum.

It should be coming out to D2D in a few weeks! :) I assume that they will have a purchase bonus as did they with CO.

Yeah, this doesn't look good if imo. Idk I just don't like how it looks like they cut a gun out of a magazine and put it in.

All they did was exaggerate the outlines on everything, everything has amazing graphics with outlines, it isn't cellshading.

Is this singleplayer only? Multiplayer? What, what? I demand an answer, I find myself oddly intrigued.

Borderlands has been delayed on the PC...not for too long, but still:crying::crying::crying:
