Borderlands OMG

Yeah it unlocks on the 26th for everywhere except UK and Australia who have to wait for the 30th

As far as I'm aware

Yup, it is...unfortunately steam is intelligent enough that even if you change your region it keeps the same unlock date :(

I got it today for the PS3, it's super fun. I really enjoyed the hour or so I played of it. I read that there are something like over 13 million weapons in the game. I think it randomly generates weapons or something, so the possibilty of getting one weapon /exactly/ as you want it is over 13 million to one :P

17 Million actually.

So i'm really enjoying the game overall. Although I will say there are a few things that make me angry. I think this game is going to be the start of an incredible series and we'll see some 10/10 reviews for the second game (assuming they do make one).

The driving is a little hard to get used to, but it work really well except for some bugs with the terrain and goofy stuff happening. The rocket launcher pretty much makes any worries instantly disappear however.

It seems like most of the missions I've been doing don't take place where I can use my vehicle. This makes me angry. I like my batmobile, and I intend to use whenever possible. Killing things way over your level is much easier when running them over. Seriously though... the amount of running you have to do in this game gets a little tedious. Some of the missions take a good 5 minutes of nothing but walking without any opposition. I really don't think we need to spend 5 minutes looking at random terrain and getting bored like that.

The enemies are really unpredictable. I was on my way back from attempting a mission I decided needed to wait and all of the sudden every mob in the zone (which I had previously wiped out with help of exploding barrels) respawned out of nowhere and proceeded to all attack me at once. Fortunately I'm playing a siren and I just phasewalked through the mess and ran straight past the overpowered Skags at the beginning of the map. That said though, it is a little frustrating to have enemies climb out of walls and floors that you had already killed halfway back and everything on the map chain aggro and try to kill you.

The other thing that bugs me a little bit is the fact that some weapon types far exceed the power of others. I honestly can't understand why anyone would use a pistol of any kind. Just grab an SMG, Sniper Rifle, and Shotgun and your good for anything the bad guys can throw at you. The fact that i'm a Siren makes no difference what weapon class that I use, only that the weapons have elemental effects that my talent tree imroves making them better than regular more damage based weapons. I mean yeah, there are thousands of weapons, but it gets a little watered down when you only use one out of every 50-80 you find after like level 10.

Overall though this game is amazing. The few bad things I listed here are easily overshadowed by the amazing qualities in this game. I'm soooo stoked to get it on PC and play with some of you guys. I'll either be playing a Siren or Hunter. Can't quite decide. I love killing people with my Falcon, but I also love being able to phasewalk and get away if I'm going to die. I'm kinda leaning towards Siren though after hearing how much it costs to respawn after dying at higher levels.

I'll post a full review once I play the game through on PC :D

/cough PC better /cough ;-)

Put another good 4 hours in tonight. So far the three biggest problems that the game has is the handling of the vehicles, stupid glitches whee enemies will get stuck and you cannot kill them so you have to reset the game, and lastly finding a a set schedule to play with your friends. It sucks if you are like 15 missions in and you have to replay them with your friend for him to get caught up.
