Vertex buffer error

heya guys

does anyone actually know how to prevent the annoying error message, failed to lock vertex buffer......, i can't figure out the soloution, and i am sure someone on here has managed it and is now happy, because it is really ruining my gaming experience grr..

Can you tell us when this is happening and witch which game? I wonder if it is hardware or software. It could be the software not handling the buffer corectly or the card itself being dammaged somehow is not responding to the opcodes dealing with the vertex shader onboard the card. Maybe some more info?

It happened on randoms games at random times of the day, say one game is fine for the morning, but it then crashes mid day or something, or whatever, it doesn't seem to have a pattern... i don't have the problem on CS or any other steam game... it is just this one ... how can you find out if it is hardware?

Hello toast,
I am assuming you probably have a 7 series nVidia graphics card? I was just looking arround and I guess other people have had similar problems. They claimed that their problem went away after changing their drivers. You want to make sure you update them at www.nVidia.com and apparently you do not want the beta drivers just the regular ones. Tell us if that helped.
