Ok So im right in the middle of all the Action.

Im in a town called Encinitas.

Ash (and already hot embers ) are falling down... From 7am (PTC)
I jsut went ahead got my hose out and a Fire gun attachment and start taking care of my roof. dry leave are the problem so i took care of that and bascially drenched my house...

Esspecially Got UNder the roof where the rafters are and the face boards.

bascially anything that burns.

(sorry about my grammer... fire is almore here :( )

My wife is from San Diego and her aunt has been evacuated. I used to live up north of LA and a few years back we had to evacuate because of a smiliar situation. I don't know what it means for you, but I will be praying for you brother. I hope that you and your home are safe.

Being from the general area myself, I am not really surprised. Major fires have started in the El Cajon/La Mesa area many times in the years that I lived in there.

Hope the fire doesn't get to your house man.

Yeah this has bcome a major issue for those of us in CA, and a bigger one for us who live close too one of these fires. I have family in between two of them down in SD, and a couple of friends at the base. Im sure there are a lot of us who are in the same boat. I cant come too grips with the fact that two of these fires have been intinaly started by people that get of on it. It is plain and utter madness and i would like to she those people on the front line fighting these fires and get them selfs burned and than see if it is still a kick for them. Or better yet let me get my shot-gun out and plug them with pure lead and than see if it was worth it. Our boys are out numbered and low on resources, this sucks i would jump in my truck at first call of valentire help and go fight the fires with them if it comes down to it.====================================

I would like to see other states lend a hand, just last wk our boys from Kern County were in NM fighting a wild fire there, so if we can go two states over why cant any one else. This is a real touchy subject for me, i had a couple of friends starte fires when we were kids and it pissed me of to no end, and then last year in TX my ranch almost burned down, the fire ate all the properties around mine, and ours was saved. The person who started it was a punck kid who said he just wanted to see how long it took fire to respond and put it out. It took two wks cause of the draught they were in. Dum ass kid.

My school is in the San Fernando Valley. If I'm lucky, the fires might get close to my school and they might cancel school for a day or two! OMG THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! I DON'T HAVE TO GET UP AT 6 AM TO CATCH THE SCHOOL BUS!

stay safe dude
just sit in a bucket of liquid, not gasoline though, remember that

Yeah its burning a lot over here kinda like the cedar fire of '03. Its been crazy, a lot of evacuations i hope you and your house are okay slavik dude. I live in the middle of SD so i'm pretty safe i think. Good luck you guys.

my sister is down in the san diego area. Its crazy down there. Hopefully we get some rain in the near future to help put out these fires...

The weather in CA is lacking the rain factor. Sure it rained a couple of times around the Bay Area, but was never for that long.

It hardly rains in California my friend. California is the REAL sunshine state. Unlike Florida. Its called the sunshine state yet it rains like every other freakin day! I'm like wtf? Florida needs to change that to "rains everyday" state or "has lots of old people" state.

Looks like the Chargers vs Texans game in SD was almost changed.

Quote from another forum:

Because of the fires in SoCal the Chargers are practicing in Arizona and might not be able to play Sunday in San Diego. The league is expected to announce where and when the game will be played on Wednesday. The most obvious choice is Sun Devil Stadium on Monday night, slim chance at Qualcomm in San Diego (most likely Monday night), and almost no chance in Houston.

Qualcomm Stadium is being used as an evacuation center for residents, and their practice facility is being used for large animal (horses, etc.). The air quality is really bad and why they went to AZ for practice, and it probably wouldn't be any better come game time Sunday.

A later post confirmed this:

According to NFL.com, the Chargers will play the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon as originally scheduled.
