Steam ingame chat problem

[Hybrid Theory]

i have installed doom 3 and used the steam shortcut system so i can play with jurassictunga. my computer is very high end and can run games past like batman arkham asylum. when i start doom 3 my ingame caht gets all checkered and i can read what people type to me. ive reinstalled it like 6 times and tryed many things. can anyone help? PM me

Are you using special characters for your in-game name? If so the game may not support them and you will need to use standard letters for your name.
