hey guys im just tryin to see what everyone uses or thinks is the ebst pc internet/virus security protection... i currently use norton..had it for a while.. and im lookin to change cus ive heard that norton isnt that great.. so any ideas u guys can give me would be awesome.

I would defiantly go with Eset Nod32, I know a lot of professionals that use it and it's great for gamers, because it is extremely light weight! You never even notice it's there, except for when it's getting rid of those viruses

The only thing i don't like about AVG that it is a hog it takes up a lot of everything! It does have great security though.

On my mac side, I use virex (scanner) and my routers firewall. On my windows vista side, I use avg enterprise edition 8.0 it works incredibly and runs great on my Macbook pro on windows vista. I get it free with CAP (Civil Air Patrol).

avira is widely considered the best free anti-virus based on what it picks up in scans. I have also used avg and that was worked fine. Go free, and be smart, and you shouldn't have any problems.

I dont use AVG a lot.. But i do use Avira.

I decided not too long ago to try it again and things were getting slowed down, which they really shouldn't with my specs and when I uninstalled it, it worked really well again!

For Windows and Fedora I use Firefox with NoScript keeps most malware from hopping onto my computer in the first place. In addition I use Avast Home Edition (free). I honestly don't bother with one for my Macs, although I should probably find one to keep from being a carrier.

The new Norton (2009+) is really nice. Extremely low on system resources (6MB RAM!) and it works very well. I highly recommend it. And this is coming from someone who used to constantly bash Norton for their crappy products. They've really turned it around!

I'm using Norton Gaming Edition 2009!

AVG is a win, get the free version, and make it updated once it absolutley needs them. Seriously Give it a try.

Also, lets not forget how AVG thought uder32.dll a critical windows file, or itunes, or adobe reder were all viruses and went crazy crippling millions of computers -.-

Eset Smart Security for me, and will be moving to Microsoft Forefront Security once its posted up as a final version on TechNet.

I use Sunbelt Vipre. Works flawlessly and uses almost no system resources. Exactly what I need. I don't get viruses(downloaded 1 ever); I just want the peace of mind.
