Netbook help

[HaloRacer]

Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a netbook soon. I know pretty much what I want in terms of specs, but what I'm wondering is if there is any manufacturer that lets you custom build them online like you would any other desktop or laptop.

I really like the Acer Aspire One series, but there are so many variants and models, I'm having a hard time finding the right one. Any place to custom build these little things? Thanks for any tips!

I haven't heard anything about them being custom built yet, but if I had to say a brand that would be really good to go with is ASUS, they basically started the netbooks and are very well known for the quality

OCZ has a DIY netbook.

I've always been interested in trying one, but never had the dough. However, most netbooks are the same. The only place they can really be different is the battery and hard drive. My advice is for you to get the cheapest one you can find, because netbooks aren't good for much else than web and email.

I agree. Check out woot.com. They usually have a 150 dollar netbook up about once a week.

Thanks for the input! I think I'm gonna go with this little guy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220551

My parents owe me about $400 of netbook/laptop. I'm not looking for a laptop, so this should be perfect. I'll load up Win7 on it and be ready to roll.

I heard Eee PC's are pretty powerful for a netbook.

you might not be able to build your own, but you can always upgrade it
