Isn't it Requiem for a Dream by Clint Mansell? I'm pretty sure it is. And yes, it makes EVERYTHING epic. Once, I was studying for a Physics final late at night to this song. It felt as if I were in a mad Physics cramming epic movie.

Requiem for a Tower is basically Requiem for a Dream but reorchestrated for the LOTR: The Two Towers trailer.
