Where did your screen name originate?

Hey eGO, Kamon here. I saw 3PEAT's thread over here, and figured I'd ask everyone else, because I figured it would be pretty interesting.

So everyone. Your screen name. How long have you had it, and where is it from?

Me? Funny story--Someone asked me a couple years ago where I got it, but it had been so long, that I had forgotten. Then one day, I picked up a Gameboy for a nice dose of Nostalgia. This resulted.

I picked up the name as a youngster from Pok?mon Silver on the Gameboy Color, way back on October 15th, 2000. No wonder it was so hard to remember. But the name stuck, and I've used it as my screen name ever since.



What's your story?
 
I think mine came from when I absolutely hated pickles (now, isn't that weird?). When I joined eGO, for some reason, it just popped into my head, I've been using the name pickles (or pickledsticks, because sometimes its taken) ever since I joined.
 
I was bored one day about 3 years ago in maths.
Looking around the room, saw a box of paper with Xerox written on the side.
Later that day i signed up to something and decided to use XeroX, and ever since, its been my name for almost everything.
 
hmmm. how many times has this thread been done? oh well. i got mine from a sword that i found in iraq
 
WoW, i was a rogue, which is a thief, so i was going to be "Stickyfingers" but WoW only allows for 12 characters in a name, so i became a one fingered thief, who in real life seems to be a chronic nose picker....
 
I first started using "Mobeus" years ago. I got it from a game called Ace Combat4 Even tho its spelled different. It's supposed to be spelled Mobius, But when I first used it I spelled it with an e and from then on I've used the name Mobeus for pretty much everything.
 
well... Ive had quite a few nicknames over the past 3 years, since I had no reason to settle with one :P the first part i took from some of my other nicknames which also had the word death in it, and blade i put because once i was a rly good knifer in css :P and 3rd... i just like how death sounds and i like cool blades :P

My name is from Homer's 'The Iliad'. I re-read it in 1996. Not long after that me and some friends at work started playing Diablo online. It may have been 1997 I am not 100% sure. I started using Diomed then (in other translations its Diomede and Diomedes).

I liked the character. He was a bit of a hot-head, and I tend to have a temper that I must check from time to time. Maybe a shrink would have a good time analyzing that one. I also like that Diomed is not a main character so I thought it less likely to have to compete with others for it. I also thought it was a interesting name.

I have used it in Diablo, Ultima Online, Asheron's Call, Star Wars Galaxies, Dark Age of Camelot, and a ton of other MMOs and shooters since. I have trouble getting it sometimes, its seems a few people out there share my interest in classical literature, and few a others just ripped me off. :)

I have several friends, who come over from time to time, and call me Dio instead of George. It drives my wife nuts. :)

hey btw,the first time I saw you in flash,I killed you with a sniper right? And then i saw =(e)= Diamond killed =(e)= Diomed and I thought I saw my own name, see the diff? Diamond - Diomed? Naw... lol

My screen name originates from nothing but my fantasy really (and no, it's not even from the word "incognito"). A few years back I played my first FPS game which was Battlefield 1942 Demo Secret Weapons of WWII or something like that.
I had to figure out a fun name to use when playing multiplayer.

Kognito-P98 was the result as it sounded like a cool weapon.

Ever since I've used either Kognito or Kognit0.
