Mic recommendations

This is my first forum post (outside of the recruiting section) after getting my eGO application accepted. A big hell-O to y'all, especially if I've played with you on Donner or Avalanche recently.

Anyway, communicating via in-game typing is becoming a drag, not to mention inefficient, so I am looking to get a mic. I'm definitely not looking to break the bank, so it doesn't have to be top-of-the-line stuff. Just something usable and I guess comfortable? Also I would much rather buy the mic online rather than going to a store to get it. Yes I know, I'm lazy. Any recommendations (brand+model)?

I have the Creative Labs Fatality headset/mic. I have had many positive comments on my mic transmission quality. A eGO member even commented that it is one of the clearest mics he has ever heard. I really like the headset. It is very comfortable. The sound is great and it was extremely easy to install. They cost me $50 at Best Buy. You can probably find a much better deal online.

It's a great headset for the price, has a nice adjustable microphone, and is very comfortable to wear; I'd highly recommend it.

I bought a desktop mic for $8 at Walmart. Decent quality too. If you already have a headset, I'd go that route.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys! As for desktop mic vs headset, I'm still undecided. I do have a pair of headphones, though they're really low quality (kind of like the same ones you get for free on American airlines).

Have a look on ebay, you can get some pretty good ones for quite cheap.

any mic and any set of headphones will do, but if you wanna get all fancy I guess you could, but i dont really know of any to tell you

I have a "Plantronics GAMECOM" Gaming Headset that i bought from JB HI-FI for $96 AU. It is really good quality sound and superb mic clarity. The only Negative is that the microphone turns to standby after 3-5 minutes of no sound and I then have to unplug it from the microphone jack and re-insert for it to turn itself back on.
