anyone know how to install the face plate for the motherboard? The little metal prongs covering the holes for the periphrals do they need to be punched out? Also which way does it go in?
The prongs usually stay and they face the MB side. As far as where the plate goes in reference to your case, it all depends on the case. Some snap in from the inside, others screw on.
A lot of manufacturers ship out semi-generic I/O shields (face plates). If you have the port on your motherboard break out its prong on the shield, if you don't then leave the prong. If you don't break of the prongs for the the ports you do have you'll have a metal piece blocking it when you go to plug a cable in and that usually sucks :facewall:
