change Weapon and Playerskins ?!

i know that ive to use gfcscape and vtfedit

i extract the vtf file to a vga file and then i open it with paint.net

but all i get is a transparant pic...


if anyone could post a lil tutorial pls


(yes i googled alot but no good tuts there...)

Eh i don't export then to vga i or something, what are you trying to skin/recolor? I could help you out, i've been recoloring alot of things lately. Made my bone saw glow in the dark. Use vtfedit and export it as a TGA and work on it on photoshop.
