Name some of the 'brand names' of communication devices used to talk during game play please, i will buy one. Also a word about Xfire; does it work together with a microphone headset? thx

both of them are free. google it.

and for xfire yes you can use voice comm in it. you can like call people and stuff, only if you have their xfire that is.

i loaded 'Ventrilo' and i need to answer questions for set up like the IP address for the host server, i think that would be 'Steam' ? but this is a first time try for me and as i read the help section, having more questions than answers is not helping!

No. In order for you to use ventrillo and teamspeak you need a server. So some clans have TS or Vent servers and you put the IP from the server in there and you can connect and talk with people.
