Figured I would post this here, since it's tech, not ONLY computers, right? Anyway I'm in the market for a new TV. Right now I have a 32" Emerson LCD. It was a scratch and dent sale at Walmart the last time I was looking for a tv. I was blinded by the size and cheap price, so I picked it up. Now I'm realizing it's pretty low quality.

So I was looking @ Bestbuy's website, and found THIS. It's a little smaller, but I can manage a 6" drop if it means I get a lot better quality.

Basically, does anyone have this, or know someone who does? Any feedback would be great. Oh, I'd mainly be using it for DVD/Blu-ray/PS3/XBOX360 n' such.

Thanks.

I suggest this :P JK I have a 40" Samsung LCD and it works great with games, I havent had any problems with it and I have had it for about 2 years. Mostly used for watching Tv and Playing PS3 on.

Lol, I knew someone was going to throw out some crazy expensive set.

I'm trying to stay <$400. If I feel like spoiling myself, I may pick up a 32" Samsung I saw.

Samsung usually makes good quality Tvs, likie I said I have had mine for 2 years with no problems.

here is a good sony,
and i know they make high quality tv's, i have one.
its 32" and 1080p with a refresh rate of 60Hz

oh, now there is a budget. let me go look again :glare:

ok, here is another one,
and its $300, 22" and 1080p. but i would check it out at the store first to see how it looks because i havent really heard of this brand.

Tempest, is the 720p vs 1080p really going to make that much of a difference?

That Toshiba is looking mighty tempting as well.

All in all, when I go in the store is what will make the final decision :/

Great I'm glad I could help you out....

yes it will, actually.
i have 2 monitors that i switch off from time to time, and geez. i hate using the 720p one, the resolution is too low for me, 1080p is so much better. and especially with that size of a screen, too. this will look almost ridiculously crisp.

Alright man, thanks for the help.

I really think I'm going to get that 1080p Insignia. Do you know anything about the brand?

no, but there are some good reviews from it, so it should be good. but i would go check it out at the store before i buy.

I agree with tempest!!!! you should check it out before you buy.... both tv's and then make your choice... I have two tv's a 720p and a 1080p both are nice... I would go with the size over the high res... my thoughts any way...

Hope this helps you out.....

Well, the furthest I'm going to be sitting from my TV is ~5ft, so size isn't a HUGE deal. I mean, I have a 32" right now, and it's almost too big lol. But looking at my laptop monitor, which is 17", I think 22" would be fine.

@IceGladiator - Can you noticeably tell the difference between the two resolutions?

^After looking at this thread, would it be better to get a monitor instead?
