I'm in the market for a new monitor

and i was wondering which resolution should i go with?
1600 x 900 - i can get this soon, like monday-ish
or
1920 x 1080 - i would have to wait a little while to save up for this, but i kind of need a new monitor like asap,
on mine, the cord needs to be bent for the colors to work properly.

What video card setup are you using ? 1920x1200 you want to have enough juice to really maximize that resolution...

i have an ATI HD 4650, but i am getting an HD 5850 in December

Go with the 1920x1080 one, that one is HD and will give you some more area to work with.

It looks a lot nicer but i dont think a 5850 will allow you to max out all the games on it, it will do fine though.

you posted the benchmarks, and those were fully maxed out at 1920x1200+

lol sorry yea i know, those were actually 5870 benchmarks but yea the 5850 will do you fine, didn't mean to make it seem that the 5850 sucks
it basically compares to a GTX 285 and will run good at 1920x1080
didn't mean for it to seem like i was bashing the 5850

I just got a new LG Flatron 20" 1600x900 monitor and I like it. For a 24" I would go for the 1920x1200 or 1920x1080.

ahh yea i guess it did, my fault.....it was somewhat old and i forgot some stuff
too bad those benchmarks are unreliable considering the real benchmarks just tested state otherwise of some of the information.
nonetheless, the 5850 does compare to a 285 and thats great....i like ATI too ya kno
ill be waiting for the 5870x2 to get epic performance, i have a 4850 right now and i regret not getting a 4870x2 kinda
