The main difference I can tell is that the Samsung is a little taller and has a tilt screen though the LG doesnt. Also the Samsung is 50000:1 contrast as Dynamic ration while the LG is just 50000:1 normally dont know why that is. Also the Samsung only has DVI but the LG has DVI HDCP and HDMI.

So which one would you chose and why?

I'd say the LG, since a few of the reviews said the Samsung crapped out.

I just bought the 20" version of the LG and so far I like it. I bought it from frys.com, well the frys store in Atlanta but same difference. At Frys they said it was the best 20" monitor they sell and it was very high quality. If you willing to buy from a website and not from bestbuy this is the same monitor for a little cheaper. Also the monitor has a cool red light under the power button that lights up the whole under side of the monitor.

The LG one has a higher quality than the Samsung one... Ill go with the LG one, plus its 10 dollars less :)

Actually.. I'm going to buy the LG. Thanks for the link to Newegg.

The only statistical difference between the two monitors is the brightness level. They have the exact same contrast ratios - (1000:1 static, 50,000:1 dynamic - the LG just doesn't list it as dynamic because they like to sucker people in thinking it's a static ratio.)

The only difference is that the LG has a brightness of 300 cd/m? while the Samsung has 250 cd/m?. Sometimes, higher brightness is good - other times, it's a little bit annoying and can effect how blacks appear as almost negative space instead of just a deep black. So that really just depends. Technically the LG can get you a bit of a brighter display (though not much). The Samsung has more tilt functions to make up for that.

Hence...

You're getting the exact same response time, resolution, and amount of colors they can display in both monitors. Quality of picture and color between the two will be exactly the same for all intents and purposes. The LG might be a tad brighter (though probably not depending on your settings). The Samsung can tilt.

They're both fine. I've always been much more a Samsung fan and have had several LG products turn to crap, but that's just my luck. If you can get the LG for cheaper, go for it.

I looked at the Newegg listing, and it's not the same model number. :confused1:
