Intel in my opinion.
AMD isn't bad but they're just not as fast as the intel.
Get an i7 920 and overclock it to like 4ghz and you should be good for a while.

believe it or not but the I5 scores higher benchmarks for gaming than the I7 does. The I7 beats the I5 out in winrar, video transcoding ect. So you will be better off with the I5 and save money if your a gamer and that your main purpose for your computer.
