I am looking to buy my girlfriend a laptop for her bday. My cash range is $500 or in that area. As for specs all she needs it for is to do everyday work. BUT... she also loves to play Sims 3. im trying to find a laptop that can handle Sims 3 in the $500 price range , but no luck yet.

the second link is good. But consider this is a budget laptop you won't be able to have that much power. AT 3200HD is integrated Graphics. So you might be able to do low - mid graphics

true that. right now shes playing on my beast of a computer at high settings at 1680x1050. she doesnt notice at all how good the graphics are. all she cares about is building houses and designing them.

Well as long as she doesnt mind the graphics then go for it. Im sure even if she cant play it shell still enjoy it and give you a hug and a kiss or other things. You never know.
