Need help getting 360 controller to work on PC

Hey. I wanted to use my wireless 360 controller on my PC (I have the cord plugged in to save on batteries) but it will not work.

I got the 'Microsoft Common Controller 32bit' plugin from microsoft but when I install it, it gives me the dumbest error ever 'installation did not complete'. :cursing: That's it. Not WHY or anything. :cursing::cursing: I wanna use this controller with the few ROMS I have (Of games I owned) but I can not get my PC to find the controller and thus can't get zsnes to find it. :facewall:

Update: I plugged a 3rd party controller by Joytech into the back. It read and installed drivers...But Zsnes will not read button presses when I try to set keys. Help?

Update Update: I got it to work..but now I have no sound. ANywhere. I found out the settings were change to a headset and change dthem back. Now I have the Volume 'DIng' but if I play a video online, I still hear nothing.

Hey bud to use the wireless controller on your PC you need the xb360 gaming receiver. Not matter what cause the only thing the usb does is gives it power. It doesn't connect the controller for you. After you get one it will work. If you get a wired control it works also. You only need the wireless receiver for the wireless controls.
