If you compare the d/l speed of even a fast dsl connection (4.5-6 meg/s maybe?) and the theoretical throughput of 'G' (54 meg/s) you should see no difference. BUT I agree with you, there is a difference. If you could twink the QOS for a particular APP (actually you usually can) maybe it would be different (haven't tried). But everytime I go wireless, I get an apparent slowdown also...

Sorry, I wasn't totally clear.

I was thinking of connections between computers on a LAN, instead of performance through internet connection. You're quite right about DSL connection, which I avoid the same way I do wireless stuff. If I have the choice that is.

But in terms of pure data transfer capability, I'll stick with wired. I'm pretty sure most people won't see a difference in connection speed if they're using a wireless setup for their internet.

And I may have sounded a little harsh on wireless. Don't get me wrong, I love how freeing it is. I simply tend to avoid it if I'm looking for a performance solution over a convenience solution.

I'll also say that wireless printers are fine. There may be some theoretical difference, but like with DSL, I think you'd have to go out of your way to find it.

Haha, love how 90% of people say wired.

For luxury outside of gaming and downloading, wireless beats it. But, in 95% of situations wired is definitely tops.
