Hmmm, hows this?

Also, remember that choosing the latest graphics card really isnt the best idea, your best choosing one a few behind, the newest ones will still have bugs and glitches, while the previous ones tend to be more stable, and being only a few steps down really renders no visible difference in performance/visuals.

To answer your question. Does your little cousin have a 7.1 surround sound system? If not inquire as to why he needs an upgraded sound card that is designed for a 7.1 system. If he does indeed have a 7.1 system then my hats off to him. Personally I have a 5.1 system and I just use the integrated 7.1 support on my motherboard and it sounds wonderful. But that's just me.

Also another point to be careful of is that even though you have 8GB of DDR3 memory that is designed to run at 1066 it's possible that the motherboard will only support 800Mhz when all four ram slots are filled.

Holy omg. I paid $900 for my computer and the specs are almost identical if not better. And I also got a 22" Sceptre monitor. If you have any experience building computers I would HIGHLY recommend you just buy the parts and put it together for her. For the extra $600 that your little cousin is spending I could have gotten a GTX295 for my system and still had money left over.

Not to sound like a dick or anything, but you'd be doing her a favor if you built it for her. And it's really not that complicated. I could walk you through it over the phone it's that simple. Only time it gets hard is if you're planning on overclocking. It took me about an hour to put my computer completely together and about two days to get my overclock stable.

GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz (Overclocked to 3.4Ghz stable.)
Antec 900 Black Steel Mid Tower Case
OCZ Fatal1ty 4GB Dual Channel PC8500 DDR2 1066MHz
EVGA GeForce GTS 250 Video Card - 1024MB GDDR3
XION Power Real 1000W ATX Power Supply
WD Caviar 320GB SATA-3G HD 7200/8MB/SATA-3G
2 x WD 1TB SATA HD 7200
22" Sceptre LCD Monitor

Any questions you can either PM me or reply back here and I'd be happy to answer them.

looking at this list... it actually isn't that bad... You'd save more money if you put it all together... but all in all. I would say it's not that bad a price.

Unless I am mistaken the GTS 250 takes a spdif connection from the sound card to output audio over its hdmi. I don't know if the sound card your cuz has selected has the spdif header to send over to the video card, but that could well be the cause of the conflict if it doesn't. If your cuz sets up the sound connected to the sound card, you should be fine.

The conflict probably isn't because of pci-e slots, or no video card would work with the sound card selected.

In any case, their prices for video cards are horrendously high. You could pick up a ATI Radeon HD 4870 for 40-60 less than they want to upgrade to it from the G210. I would also not recommend this computer because, like ShadowBlade says, this computer would cost hundreds more than if you built it yourself.

The GTS 250 does not have an HDMI output. I personally own one and it has two DVI outputs which with an adapter can be converted to HDMI which is probably what they include. Also this GPU does not handle audio in any way. It is strictly a GPU.

"1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 [2 DVI, HDMI and VGA adapters]"

I'm going to agree with the person who said that there probably aren't enough PCI or PCIe slots available. But it is also possible that they are using a MicroATX board to cut costs as stated above.

I agree with what most people are saying.

1. I generally wouldn't get the upgraded sound card.

2. I would also recommend assembling it yourself.

3. Make sure the motherboard can take advantage of all of the top of the line peripherals.

amen i like building my own, love ur sig btw. and as for the conflict with the specs, idk the mobo could be small... not enough slots... lol idk
