C'mon, where are all the old-school types? Let's break out the D20 and throw down on that Tarrasque!

Seriously, though, do any of you guys play any pen-and-paper or miniature games? I've kind of gotten the feeling that I'm the only guy here at eGO that nerds out on that kind of thing.

My roommates and I play DnD and Serenity. So no worries, you are not alone. :)

Tarrasque!

GRAHHHHH. That's like the twelfth time this week someone has mentioned it.

Anyways, I play 3.5e D&D (as well as Pathfinders 3.75), though I don't regularly play it tabletop. My brother has been trying to get me into Shadowrun, but that's not going so hot.

Huzzah! Also, how does Serenity play? I've wanted to try it out for forever but no one I know IRL is interested.

It requires a little fine tuning...They didn't finish it all that well, but if you love firefly it's still a fun time. :) Combat is pretty brutal in the game, a bullet can almost kill you...lucky for my friends I play a good doctor. :D

figured 3.0 and up was a giant $ grab by WOTC

haven't played AD&D since 2.0 rulebooks (see title for reason).....people seem to think 3.0 was better, but there was nothing wrong with 2.0 that a good DM couldn't fix with some thinking (plus those leather bound guides were so snazzy!)

I'm old enough to remember 1.0 days even - Fiend Folio anybody?

am now actually playing DDO - its free now! (check it out)

not a bad way to waste some time (and the price is right!)

Haha, YES! I'm only 19, but I actually learned to play on an old THAC0 box set, with the old-school monsters. I still have the DM screen, dice, and dice bag (It has a big TSR logo on it)

Yeah, I considered playing DDO, but I'm going to stay away from any sort of MMO until I can get a better router (the one I have now makes gaming near impossible sometimes, a hassle all of the time)
