One rule for not losing BlackMesa?

LOL, you act like its hard to dominate me...its quite the opposite, i make fun of those I domintate since its so easy to dominate me :P

Guess i get to dump my thoughts here

any team can win bm if they stick together and just push hard.. now "if" they are not fast enough the other tactic is.. cap a point, then 1/2 defend it, other 1/2 grab next point..wash rinse repeat.

the issue of A being too fast is not really an issue. the map was timed to not be a valve map..it's that simple.

the map favors the bold teams..yes, campers can get a few extra kills in but they do not help "win" the match. only bold players win. take some chances..the map helps you. And yes, some would say this allows for "lucky" players. But then again, getting lucky can be fun.

Yeah, I agree it takes a more bold approach to win Mesa. I usually play Suicide-Pyro on there since I'm usually pushing people off the point to allow my team to capture it. I've actually been on a winning team that map, so it is not a stalemate map like warpath was. Warpath had only one path/entrace to it's final cap. Mesa has at least 3-4 different ways to get to the final point, so that makes it harder to defend also.

If you want to win BM then you need engies specifically building on points below.

Let's say you are attacking B->K. You need one engie on L to defend. Then you need 2 engies to build in the connector between A and C (this is the other side of the map. Go left out of spawn and then through the blast doors). If you control that area, then the other team only has 2 entrances into A (from the vents and from the K stairs).

This allows an easy cap of A. If you have turrets looking down the hallway across C then it's very hard for the opposing team to protect a cap on C. At this point the engie from L can move his tele forward to the crab room and try to build outside the K blast doors.

With everyone pushing in, it's a sure win.
