Steam ingame browser question

Yeah so I love not having to minimize my game to go on the internet, but one of the main things i do on the internet is watch youtube videos, but it doesn't work for me in the in game browser. I've talked to others and they say they have no problem watching videos. Is there some way to allow the video players to work?

I just normally have the game on one monitor and whatever media I want on a different monitor; it's the simplest solution that I've found.

Just play it in windows mod.... its easy to access stuff without having to minimize the window and go through that painful process of it locking up and all that mess that comes with it

The Steam Browser (Which is just IE) Doesn't allow Videos are flash or anything. I say, Go through Alt Tabbing, and do it there.

ya i have video and flash with it but it is choppy so i just have my macbook beside when i game but since your not getting in the steam browser try reinstalling flash for IE.

an other way would be to set the game to run in windowed borderless mode which allows you to still get fullscreen but tab in and out quick with no lockups

I do a combination of both of these.

Why not? Gives you something to do if you're dead, trying to jump start a server, or whatever else people do while playing games these days.

Colonel Sanders, I'm all with you on this. My 1st thought was wth is he talking about?! Watching youtube while playing??!! I'm way too busy watching myself die over and over again to try to catch some Jake&Amir while doing it...

As for having something to do while waiting the 7 seconds to respawn is WAY to ADD (or ADHD or Super HD or whatever) for me!

More to the point, yeh, I play in windowed mode and can alt-tab to my hearts content very quick. So when I need to feverishly check my 97 email accounts while the game shows my gibs, I'm all set!

Apparently the new Steam client beta's in-game browser has support for Flash.

The Beta can be accessed by clicking, in your main Steam window: File >> Settings >> Account tab. Half-way down the page there is a button for "Beta-Participation." Click that, select "Steam Client Beta" from the drop-down menu, and follow the instructions from there.
